Dragons

Portfolio

Aria Luna’s greatest wish is to have a real live dragon that she can train and fly to school on. Her parents are still looking for the perfect one. Till then, we’ll have to make do with dragon movies—and Aria’s dragons. Come see them all! We have red dragons, blue dragons, silver, green, and polka-dotted dragons… even a mythical sea dragon.

Portrait of a Dragon

2021
Color pencil on paper
14 x 11 in
35.6 x 27.9 cm

If you could get a dragon to sit still long enough for a portrait… nah, that’s impossible.

And yet… Aria Luna’s done it.

Red Dragon

2020
Acrylic and sharpie on canvas board
12 x 16 in
30.5 x 40.6 cm

In the lands where fire is born, reign the red dragons of yore…

This dragon is willing to fly home to you… but you’ll probably need to frame it in iron just to contain its power.

Fynn the Sea Dragon

2018
Watercolor, ink, and oil pastels on mixed-media paper
17.5 x 20.75 in
44.4 x 52.7 cm

Fynn is one of the sea protectors in Fusion Tide, Aria Luna’s traveling exhibit that tells the story of Bogo Mogo the plastic monster ravaging our seas. Fynn is the most traveled of all the characters… he’s been to Washington DC, New York, and California, and might visit Europe next.

Soloar

2017
Charcoal and pastels on mixed-media paper
31.5 x 42 in
80 x 106.7 cm

This is Soloar, the fire-breathing dragon attacking mama dragon Celseous and her egg in Aria Luna’s Dragonstorm exhibit.

Celseous

2017
Charcoal, pastels, and mixed media on gesso and mixed-media paper
20 x 41 in
50.8 x 104.1 cm

Celseous is a fierce mama dragon protecting her egg from the fearsome Soloar. Like any mama whose baby is under threat, she’s on fire and she’s not stepping down.

Blue Colossus

2019
Acrylic on linen
30.75 x 32.5 in
78.1 x 82.6 cm

Aria Luna created this colossal blue dragon at the famed Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, California.
