THE BOGO MOGO CHALLENGE
THE SITUATION
A monstrous plastic beast named Bogo Mogo, spawned in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, is turning fish and other marine animals into plasticized zombies. This monster is a terrifying new form of synthetic life, based on the same petrocarbons that plastic is composed of. And because it’s not biological, it doesn’t need to eat, drink, or sleep. Its only goal is to grow.
THE MISSION
Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to help the Guardians of the Sea track the Zombie Fish back to Bogo Mogo and the source of the plastic it feeds on. If we can identify and neutralize the source, Bogo Mogo is done for.
THE CHALLENGE
The new Bogo Mogo Challenge took place aboard the Tall Ship Wavertree on September 21, as part of Plastic Odyssey’s Climate Week event. We are now bringing the challenge online, so anyone anywhere in the world can take part. Stay tuned!
In the meantime…
We also have a secret weapon you can access to help the Guardians in your own home, school, and community. It’s an activity booklet with the story of Bogo Mogo and the Guardians of the Sea, coloring pages, and activities for you and your family. You can download it for free here.
